Lynnhaven Admissions Process
1. Inquire
Click the "inquire" from the drop down menu under the Admissions Page and fill it out.
2. Shadow
After you've inquired, toured the school, and/or participated in an open house, the next step is to shadow for a day. Shadowing includes sitting in on classes, meeting our teachers, and interviewing with the Director of Admission. This is an important part of the admission process for inquiring families as well as the student.
3. Testing
All applicants must undergo a series of educational and intellectual ability assessments as part of the admission process. In some instances, testing is completed during the Shadow Day.
4. Apply
Steps 1-3 MUST occur before this step. If the Admissions Committee believes your child will be a fit at Lynnhaven, then you will be invited to apply.
5. Decision
Admissions decisions will be communicated at the end of our regular admissions window. We do admit and enroll students on a rolling basis, throughout the school year as space permits. No decision will be made until ALL application materials are received and processed with the admissions office.
6. Enrollment
Parents of accepted students will receive a decision letter from the Director of Admission and, per your commitment, an enrollment contract via LynxNet. Contracts should be completed to reserve your student’s place for the current or upcoming school year.
7. Family Orientation
Newly enrolled Lynnhaven families complete orientation before the start of the school year, typically two-weeks before the first day of classes. If you are mid year transfer student then families will complete an abbreviated version of orientation. In either case, it's a designated time to meet faculty and staff as well as other new students and families. Additionally, our Leadership Team will review the school policies, procedures, and school calendar as well as respond to questions and concerns.
8. First Day of School!
This is the final step in the admissions process.
